Fillings

A tooth filling is used to prevent the spread of oral diseases or just to correct any cosmetic damage. There are two different types of fillings: amalgam free (otherwise known as silver fillings) and composite. Your dentist will discuss which option is right for you depending on your oral health needs.

Amalgam Free

These fillings are made up from a metal material and are commonly used for filling in molar cavities and can withstand biting pressure. They are mercury-free, long lasting, and heavily resilient.

composite

These types of fillings are made of a composite material that has a more natural look. Composite fillings ,however, are typically more expensive and not as strong as a metal filling. They are often used to treat small cracks, filling in a tooth gap, among other uses.
