Implants

A dental implant mimics the look and function of a natural tooth and acts as a replacement for an irrepairable tooth. When decay or gum disease has progressed enough to justify an extraction, the entire tooth is taken out and replaced with an implant. The dental implant is a titanium root that is surgically implanted in the jaw below the gumline. Once the root heals, we attach an artificial crown, the visible part of the tooth, on top. Over time, bone and gum will continue to grow around the implant providing it with extra stability.
